PHONE LINE NOT WORKING

My phone (landline) has suddenly stopped working . I am unable to call out or receive calls. The phone display is normal, but there is no tone when i pick up the handset. I have check the line in the house but cannot find any problem. Unplugging and plugging back in again, but this makes no difference. 

I should add however the wifi does seem to work ok.

can you help ?

If you are unsure of your phone number, you can find this in My Account or dial 17070 from your landline phone and this will confirm the number for you.
