Repair or replacement of telephone box attached to outside wall

I have an old telephone cable box attached to the outside wall of my house (see photo below). The box is broken and held together with parcel tape. Please could someone advise if it is possible to have it replaced, and if it is possible, whom I should contact to replace it, as I assume that I should not try to do this myself?

Sorry, I wasn’t sure what was happening and after some work to discover how to do this, I have now arranged an Openreach engineer visit myself.

Thank you for your advice about possible water damage, because it helped me to arrange the visit.

Your reply did not escalate back into our workflow queue, apologies for this.

 

I have been looking into this further and I have been advised that Openreach will likely charge for this visit as it's not service affecting at the moment. 

 

Would you still like me to arrange an engineer visit?

@ngower callbacks are not offered on the forum.

 

The PM reply button is broken, however, just click or hover over Debbie's avatar on the LHS side of her post, as long as pop-ups are allowed you should get a box appearing with a MESSAGE button in the bottom left.

 

This is what you should see.

The engineer should replace it because eventually it will become service affecting if water is able to get in.

 

I can't make any guarantees as this will be the engineers decision.

If you arrange an Openreach engineer visit, will the engineer definitely replace the box?

Obviously I don't want to pay for a visit if the engineer refuses to replace the box.

My wife says that she taped the box because the case fell off.

I think Chris asked about the tape on the box to check if the box had been damaged and taped up by someone, workmen etc.

Generally Openreach would only replace the box if it service affecting or a health and safety issue, do you know who repaired the box with tape?

Dear Debbie,

As far as I am aware my broadband and landline connection are working.

However, I would like to have the broken box replaced.

Please could you advise me whether you could replace it?
