I have a 2x TalkTalk hand set model 2122 , I can't find the user book , I am wanting to purchase another phone and found a new one on ebay a bt cancero 1400 , it says it is a GAP compatable , I think the TalkTalk 2122 is DECT compatable not sure thouhg , need to know if the Talktalk DECT phone will work with the bt GAP phone .
Current DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) 'phones are Generic Access Protocol (GAP) compatible.
This means you can use any GAP compatible handset with any base-station unit. For example, a Panasonic GAP handset will work with a BT GAP compatible base-station unit. In practice, that means basic functions will work i.e. making and receiving calls. That's a basic requirement of the DECT specification.
But don't get "hung-up" on GAP as not necessarily all manufacturer functions will be the same or compatible. For total compatibility you'd need the specific handset for the base-station pack.
