Today I tried to get wo www.bet365.com site, but in firefox the browser set the link was reset during load. I tried on Chrome ad got a talktalk page saying kidsafe was blocking the site. I don't have kidssafe turned on. I logged in and double checked, I even tried truning on then allowing gambling sites and allowing the specific site, but still says its blocked. Turend kidsafe off but still says blocked
I have the same issue. been on the phone to talktalk thirty minutes. Got nowhere. Said they will look into it. I'm furious that these things can happen. If not resolved very soon, this will trigger my departure from talktalk.
There does appear to be an issue with HomeSafe / KidsSafe at the moment.
If you cannot change DNS then for a temporary work-around switch KidsSafe on and Block Gambling sites. In the fault mode you'll probably find this will work and you'll get your gambling sites back - until TalkTalk fix the issue.
... yes, it seemed to get fixed at 13:30. The logic for blocking had gotten inverted. Sites that were supposed to be blocked were available and sites that were supposed to be available out of a blocked category were blocked.
I have gambling sites blocked and national lottery enabled so when I looked at bet365 and ladbrokes and casino sites and found they were all accessible but national-lottery was blocked it was obvious that the logic had gotten inverted. I set up to enable gambling sites and then found they were blocked. But while I was writing up the temporary fix, the issue came good.
The problem has returned. I was blocked by Kids safe from using all betting sites from 1pm - 2.30 pm this afternoon.A telephone call sorted the problem in around 20 mins.I now can't access all betting sites again at 9.30 pm.I rang up the helpline but the system is down and they can't do anything until tomorrow morning
Thanks for offering help 😉
On this occasion it was not needed, but I will try it next time it happens, and there's a good chance of that happening.
It's just sad to see we have to resort to using a workaround instead of them fixing the root cause.
Hi all. First time on this Community. Hoping for results! Suffering from the 'Kidssafe' block stopping me accessing a part of a website that mentions beer and alcohol!
Would like to turn it off via 'My Account' but when i click on that I just get a page with 'promo.title' and 'promo.flash' at the top.
I echo the pleas of others for Talktalk to get this fixed!
I posted the other DNS addresses earlier in the thread, but I can't see that post now so maybe it has been deleted.
The DNS's I recommended were Googles, 126.96.36.199 primary and 188.8.131.52 as secondary.
These alternate addresses have been suggested by TalkTalk's OCE on these forums to circumvent this exact problem - as a temporary workaround. So could I suggest that whoever is deleting my posts that they ask why TalkTalk staff also recommend changing DNS as a workaround.
But unfortunately you can't change DNSs yourself if you have a 3872 router - you will need to ask an OCE to do that for you.
