Flubot Malware Scam

There is a new text message (SMS) scam that can affect mobile customers with Android devices - called the Flubot Malware Scam.

It looks like a text message (SMS) from a courier company such as DPD or DHL etc., stating “to track your parcel, click on this link”. As soon as the link is clicked, it downloads a system app onto the mobile device which then starts using the phone as an SMS generator. As it registers itself as a system App, it cannot be uninstalled. The malware also scans the device for any crypto wallets and banking apps to unlawfully collect personal details, such as banking verification details.

If you think you have received one of these text messages please do not click on the link.  If you have already done so, please post to let us know and we will talk you through next steps.
