Hi shiplu,

I'm not sure about home phone limits, and don't recall seeing one on mine, but you can limit the spend on your mobile help2.talktalk.co.uk/mobile/your-talktalk-mobile-bill
Is there a cap on my monthly bill?

There is a £100 credit limit per month on your mobile account. To increase or change the limit please call Customers Services free of charge from your TalkTalk mobile on 0870 087 8751.

The reason for applying a £100 credit per month limit on your account is to protect customers from running up excessively high monthly bills.

I have a usage limit of £5 on my account and the 4 mobile sims it includes

I recently recieved a bill for nearly £150 for going over my data allowance and talk talk say I have used the data do I have to pay. This cap apparently means diddly squat. be warned.

I saresay the moderators will remove this post.

As long as Posts are within forums 'family freindly' rules they are always allowed, there is no censorship of views here, be they good or bad comments. ;)

The problem is caused by the fact that there is a 48hr delay in updating the account when a mobile is used and during that time the account holder remains responsible for any charges incurred during that period, even if it causes the limit to be exceeded. Not very useful therefore for either fsecurity or peace of mind.

So useless. My son racked his bill up in a short time. Not a cap at all but I will be taking this further. I have two recorded messages from the sales team assuring me I would not be charged more than £5 over. I would not have bought the sims if I thought we could rack up such a bill.
I'll stick to Giffgaff in future.

HI Katypoo,

If you start your own thread were happy to chat with you about this.

However we openly state that any limit is a guide, due to the delay in us receiving data records, and you need to retain control and monitoring of the usage on your account. Our Online Help writers even put together an article specifically to help people with questions About Mobile Data to give helpful tips and tricks on managing usage

Cheers

:)
