The dark Scandi Noir crime drama The Bridge is being broadcast on BBC Two for the final series 4. Eight episodes on Friday nights starting at 9pm on 11 May with each episode on BBC iPlayer soon after transmission. To catch up on the characters, and their individual demons, all previous series 1, 2 and 3 (30 episodes) are available for a month on BBC iPlayer.
Series 1 of the Swedish/Danish co-production started with the discovery of a dead body at the exact centre of the Øresund Bridge which links Sweden's city of Malmö to Denmark's city of Copenhagen.
The BBC say that the final investigation for Saga Norén (Sofia Helin) eventually sees her reunited with partner Henrik Sabroe (Thure Lindhardt) in a “heart-stopping concluding case that tests their very special relationship to its limits both professionally and personally”. At the start of series 4 Saga Norén, previously the wearer of leather trousers and driver of a Porsche, is behind prison bars. “Saga is coming to terms with the dire consequences of being accused of her mother’s murder when a macabre crime seemingly linked to migration takes place.” A Danish immigration official has been buried up to the neck underneath the Øresund Bridge before being stoned to death. So, quite gruesome and disturbing to begin with.
You can binge-watch The Bridge on BBC iPlayer online or via your TalkTalk TV Box by selecting iPlayer from the Players and Apps.
