Joining Fee for using TalkTalk services?

Team Player

I recently signed up with TalkTalk Phone and Fibre Broadband Service and I am a first time customer.  The contract was supposed to have been £26.50 a month, however I was billed for £28.24. After contacting TalkTalk online chat I was informed that there is joining fee for using the TalkTalk services for £1.74 which is a one off payment and then the monthly bills will be £26.50.

When I signed up there was no mention of a joining fee and my previous ISP's never had a joining fee.  Is there a joining fee and is it stated in the contract when you sign up?

Hi @jazzyman2012

The £1.74 is simply a part months billing to reflect the charges between joining and the regular billing date.

So, it's just a little mis-interpretation of what it is.  It's quite normal.

There's more information about this and other billing items that appear on your bills in the Help pages. Click top right on Help and there's a stack of useful information right there.
