I have been running a Netgear router for a number of years whilst on TalkTalk and speeds have been around 3.8 to 4.1Mbps.
I received my Youview box and new router a while ago and the Youview box is working well.
Ran some checks via service center and results told me that my router (Netgear) is not giving me best possible performance so I installed the new TalkTalk DSL-3780 and my speed dropped to around 3.4Mbps (Latest firmware installed v1.05t). I ran the checks again and got the same response that router is not giving the best possible performancewith an option to claim a replacemnent free router.
I tried to claim the new router but am then told We are sorry but Router not available for your package. Its all a bit contradictory.
Can you explain the speed drop and what the 'New' router is likely to do.

it would appear you are on a 12DB profile
you can go down to a 6DB profile that will give you faster speeds and an OCE can help u out with that
as you have the same DSL-3780 router as my self and the latest firmware its not the router at all
await an OCE response now and they can assist further

Apologies for the delay.
I've changed the profile from 12db to 9db interleaved and the line is in sync at 4.5mb.
Please let us know how the connection compares.
I have also ordered a replacement router and returns bag, please allow 3-5 working days for this to arrive.

Internet speed from TalkTalk ) The falling down speed it's typically to TalkTalk. I have the same problem, they promised 8.2 MB/s in the contract but I don't get even 1 MB/s =)) Can you believe this? They even don't give me 600 kb/s, I get around 400-580 kb/s from this TalkTalk -_-
They are have the poorest services from UK. In my Country (Romania) I paid only 10 pounds/month for Internet+Landline Phone+TV (80 channels) and I had a speed about 600-700 kb/s and after 1-2 months I added 1 pound more to have 1.6-1.7 MB/s on speed and that Internet worked so good and here in the UK I pay over 20 pounds per month and I don't even get 1 MB/s on speed from TalkTalk and I don't have free minutes on landline and also I don't have TV channels -_- I'm watching TV with a small antenna from 1 pound.
I don't like what TalkTalk is doing to its customers... Really disappointed..

johnny your post isnt helping anyone here its just bitching over talktalk
and with talktalk you can get various minutes i get 1000 mobile minutes a month on my landline for £5 extra with unlimited landlines and 0845 numbers so i dunno what package your on

ok it shows your on a 9DB profile
but uptime is short
the best time to reboot the modem is normally around 8am just so u know that way you will achieve the highest sync speed
an oce member can move you up to a 6db profile to improve speed
