The synch speed of the router is 'raw speed' any speed tester only counts the actual data packets, it doesn't include the overheads, the stuff that encapsulates the data so it knows where to go and who it's for.

speed test result should be approx 80% of the routers reported synch speed so it looks about right.

Hi ethermax,

Your router has been in sync and connected for 9 days so I have changed your profile back to 9db

Downstream Rate 3300 kb/s
Upstream Rate 836 kb/s
Downstream SNR 8.6 dB

Please let us know if there is any improvement

Talktalk speed tester function not working (upload reading either failing or simply not reading) so result from speediest.com are 2.83Mbps download (slightly higher than aborted Talktalk test 2.77 Mbps)

No Talktalk reading for upload but Speedtest = 0.71 Mbps

as at 12:15 ish today

Any tweaks available to get to my target 3.5 Mbps download?
Cheers

Also because of speedtest failure I'm not getting any feedback due to reading into router only at computer which is still via wifi (no alternative there)

Still intend to carry out test using laptop plugged by wire into router however it will never be a viable option on a regular basis

Have now fitted new plug in filters - don't think thats made any differance

Cheers :s

Not sure if you have done this or if it has been suggested that you change your router ADSL modulation type from auto/all ADSL2+ to either G.Dmt or ADSL2 as it would be a more stable connection for your attentuation.

Hi ethermax,

How does the speed compare if you connect in a wired state?
