If you are currently in an inteleaved line profile the forum staff (OCE) can try changing it to a fastpath profile for you which tends to produce lower pings and improved latency.
As the OCE are only online during weekday working hours it will be a little while before you receive a response from them, so may I please ask you to keep your router switched on until the OCE have picked up this topic so that they can ensure it regains connection if they do change the profile?
What don't you like about the new profile? If it has turned out a bit slower in total throughput than the interleaved profile, that's quite standard. It is only the ping that improves, not the throughput. However, by moving to a profile with lower SNR margin, you may be able to recover any lost speed. If you want to try that, post your full router stats (see www.talktalkmembers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43877) and the OCE will see what they can do.
hi I was wondering if I could do what MIKEDT said if that's possible

I have changed the profile to 9db, please can you monitor the connection to see how it compares and also to ensure that the connection remains stable.
If the connection does remain stable following the profile change then please let us know and we can try a faster profile 🙂
Can you also ensure that the modem is set to always on or disconnect if idle is set to 0 in the modem settings.
To change the d-link to always on open browswer and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar, then press enter type "admin" for the username and password and press OK click on advanced in the left hand side menu click on OK to the advance user warning Change the idle time out to number 0 (by default it is set to 30) Click on save setting at the bottom of the screen
6 db is the next fastest (and fastest profile available tho' also the most ustable) might be worth your while having a read through www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/socket.htm to see if your internal wiring is up to scratch
