Subsrcibed to supersafe boost to protect an additonal device, but then realised I didn't need it - opted out, but now appear to have lost supersafe protection included as standard for my one original device?

Hi traceyb2, that sounds like you've unfortunately fallen foul of the changes made to SSB since you first signed up to the free version. There no longer is a free version and so removing it will mean you've removed it for good.

I can check for you and will send you a personal message once PMs  are enabled for you.
