FAULTY TV SET TOP BOX

My settop box is acting up. The tv picture and sound is breaking up and sometimes going off and sometimes does not respond to the remote control. I have tried every I can think of. I put the aerial directly into the TV and it worked ok, put the HDMI lead into a different socket and it was the same, I turned the box off and on again, and reset it to the factory settings but it was still breaking up after a few minutes . I think I need a new box.. 😠

I have just received my new set top box. I didn't have a remote control with it. Do I use my old remote control with it?

There is just one thing that springs to mind. Have you ensured that the Antenna Out is enabled on the box as after a reset it often defaults to off. Blue Menu/YV button on remote control, > up to settings (cog wheel) > Picture and Sound >Antenna Out.

I can issue a replacement TV box however TalkTalk no longer provide a recordable box and I can only issue the Lite Box (non recording).  Would you like me to send this ?

I have asked one of TalkTalk's support to pick your thread up and investigate it for you.

They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday), but if more urgent you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first. Please try to avoid posting on here until TalkTalk have responded to you, otherwise, this will just put you further down the queue.

To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number & if possible an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture then click on "My Settings" followed by:-

Personal Profile > Personal Information

Otherwise, TalkTalk will not be able to tie up your forum username to your broadband account. Only you & TalkTalk have visibility of your details.
