TV Apps and Boost with Powerline adaptors

My Talktalk TV box will not connect to the internet router via through powerline connectors.

The router is positioned in the centre of the house next to the main telephone line socket to obtain the strongest internet connection.  I use powerline connectors for various devices including my Talktalk TV box.  Currently the TV box and router are connected with two TP Link AV600 pass through sockets.

The TV has previously worked fine with Apps and Boost Now subscription but that has recently stopped.  I receive the error message YVM102.

If I run a cable from the router to the TV box then I can connect and add a Boost Now package but that is impractical.

I have swapped power line adapters around, switched everything off/on and reset everything but the box will not connect.

When connected I have checked that the box software is up to date also.

I want to access the Apps and add a Boost so what can I do?

Where is the fault?

Hi @Fourcarrz

I should try the following, check after each step to see if it's helped  1) turn off and restart everything for about 30 mins, (unplug Power Line Adapters,TT box) and turn off the router for AT LEAST 30 minutes (THIS IS ESSENTIAL AS THIS CLEARS your existing line session and starts a brand new one thus ensuring a cleared connection),  2) try using different plug sockets in case one of the current sockets has a poor wiring connection. If these show no improvement then factory reset the PLA's and re-pair them.

If this has helped and solved your problem, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" from the 3 dot dropdown menu in the bottom right of this post so that staff or others do not spend time looking for alternatives. If you like the answer please feel free to click the "Like Button"

Karl,

The adapters arrived and did connect to the router.  All Apps were available but when I connected to the Now TV App Sports boost the picture quality wasn't good. It also froze after a while.

I have reverted to an Ethernet cable 10m running through the hall.  This isn't a long term solution but will do for the Golf Open.

Any other suggestions as to why the picture quality drops through a powerline?

Hi

If the box will connect with a direct cable connection then that would suggest that the adapters are possible at fault.

I'll get a set out to you for testing and see if this helps.

Thanks
