I've been with Talktalk for a year and the box is one of the worst pieces of hardware I've ever come across. It constantly freezes, lags, won't turn on, loses channels. At the moment it has frozen and won't change channels either using the remote or buttons on the front of the box. I have tried reset, maintenence mode but no luck. Now it won't even start up! Any ideas? How can I get a replacement box?
Hi,
Can you please add your home phone number to your Community Profile so I can locate your details.
If unsure of your number, simply dial 17070 from your land line phone and this will confirm the number for you.
Please reply when this has been updated.
Thanks
Karl.

I have had a TalkTalk box for almost a year and it is the worst piece of hardware I have ever owned. It is constantly freezing, it takes up to 15 minutes to turn on (if it turns on at all) and frequently just shows a black screen. The remote is unresponsive or laggy and the subscription channels rarely work. Recording anything on it renders it unusable and trying to watch anything that has been recorded causes the box to fall over and freeze. I have tried a soft reset, a factory reset, resetting in maintenance mode and every other solution that has been mentioned on these forums to try and return the box to a working condition with no luck. Grateful if you could provide some advice or a solution.
Thanks for your help.
Hi @Blueade
I've drawn this topic to the attention of the TalkTalk Community Team and an OCE will respond to you right here to help you.
I've removed your phone number from your post to avoid you getting scam calls.
I have given that phone number to the OCE's but do you think you could ensure your Community Profile Personal Information (Click here) includes your name, address, current landline 'phone number and an alternate number (mobile recommended). Add, then scroll down and save changes. The Community support OCE will then be able to link this topic to your TalkTalk service account.
To appreciate my help . . . If I offered a solution Best Answer
Hi Blueade
If the performance of the box is poor and unable to correctly play back recordings following a maintenance reset and then a full factory reset from the settings menu, then the only option is to replace the box and see if this helps.
Thanks
Karl.

Thanks Karl,
I have tried the above (and various other solutions posted across the forums) so it looks like i may need the box replaced. Could you please let me know the process to request this?
Many thanks
Hi
Ok, I'll sort a replacement out for you.
Thanks
Karl.
