No sound via HDMI on Talktalk Plus box. Used with Sony KDL-43W756C which has 4 HDMI inputs and Scart

Sound has not worked via HDMI since the box was installed. Sound on TV AV1 Scart input is fine but picture quality is very poor. Picture is good via HDMI input. Sound and picture from LG DVD player is fine via HDMI. Have tried 2 further high speed HDMI cables between the box and TV. Have tried all HDMI inputs, including ARC. Mains reset and standby button reset tried on the box. Maintenance mode reset tried (not delete recordings). Have also tried all settings on the box and TV. 

Could you assist please?

Hi Richard

Don't use the SCART at the same time as an HDMI cable from the YouView Box.

Identify which Sony TV HDMI socket you're using for the YouView Box

• Press the HOME button on the Sony TV remote control
• Select Settings
• Select External inputs in the TV category
• Select HDMI signal format for the HDMI socket and unset Enhanced format

i.e. use Standard or normal format for the HDMI input.  Sound will return.
