Hello Karl, Thank you for getting in touch the internet channels are not too bad now it freezes every now and then but still comes back on, however when i put the bbc iplayer on it keeps stopping every few minutes in the end we had to turn it off. I've tried it again this morning and it is still the same problem im afraid. Is there anything else i can do altough i have seen an improvement in the channels but not 100 percent. Thank you for your help in this matter.
Try to manually update the software and players from the option in the youview menu.
If Iplayer keeps stopping, then try a Youview Maintenance Reset (Option 4: Keep Recordings).
Please note any future scheduled recordings will be lost and will have to be rescheduled.
Set the box back up and then retest again.

Thank you for the information to try and get the iplayer back online. i've manually updated the software and players from the youview menu and that did'nt make a different and unfortunately i don't have the option 4 on the youview maintenance reset on my box, just a warning saying all recordings will be lost, will this be because my box is 9 years old and will not be able to give me the option 4 request. I still have the problem of the iplayer that keeps stopping and at around midnight my sky channels were freezing up and then starting again after about 30 seconds. This morning i did a check on the 192.168.1.1 site and found out the internet connection status has been broken and is now saying 14 hours and 44 minutes of internet connection, i have had the router on for a few days now and have never turned it off, will this information be of any help to try and get the iplayer and channels up and running smoothly. Thank you for your help in this matter and i look forward to hearing from you soon.
Here are the instructions for the maintenance reset:
Turn the box off, then unplug power lead for a couple of minutes.
Re plug in power .
You will then need to reset your personal settings (such as parental controls / RF loop through / Surround Sound etc.) and also reset your scheduled recordings (might be worth taking a note of future recordings before doing this so you don’t miss any).
It is also a good idea to restart your router once you have done this.
This states option 2 which is the one Youview recommend but if you want to do option 4 it is two further down on the menu.
Hi Karl, the internet connection was lost this morning at about 3:40 am is this a normal thing to happen as it has happened quite a few times in the past. i have left the router on permenantly as requested by the instructions.
Thank you for the instructions for the maintenance reset, i have done everything as requested and sadly i still havn't got the iplayer running properly. the programes keeps freezing and starting again every few seconds and my wife is finding it very frustrating trying to watch the programes that she has missed. Ireally don't know what else to do. the sky channels are on breaking up once every now and again but at least i could watch some of them. Any more idea's i could try.
