I've gone from "Chat Champion" this morning to "Whizz Kid" which must imply "Speed" as a drug and then promoted to "Chat Champion" which is where I alegedly began. What are all these silly handles and why do I get stupid infantile message telling me how awesome I am if someone "likes" a post? Have TalkTalk lost their tiny minds and, if so, I feel we should be told.
Now, don't get me going on these names! Lots of forums hosted by Lithium are similar with different levels given different names according to how many posts you've made or how long you've been on the forums or a specific name or title related to your role on Community.
I was happy with Gondola Problem Solver and I'd definitely be happy with Gondola Community Magician
but I really, really want to be Gondola Worm Charmer

Maybe a little, but, the only resaon that it happens usually is because, someone has to use up valuable time to try and sort something out and then someone else likes a post because, someone has expressed how they feel about something. If TalkTalk had to perform as a reposnible company, instead of a specialist excuse portfolio, non of us would be writing here in the first place.
What I want to be is "Sense of Hughmoz" :)
Well, as a person in "The know" where are the different names listed that people get awarded for devoting their time to helping TalkTalk to do their job? The forum search is about as useful as asking Tony Blair to be humble.
I understand all that thanks. The thing I do not understand is why TalkTalk cannot be organised and answer anything in a timely and useful manner and where all these categories are found. I asked TalkTalk customer services earlier where I could find how to change my picture on posts? I did not even realise that I was a "Avatar" and TalkTalk did not know how to answer the question. I suggested that as they own the company and the website perhaps they should know, but, no. I found out myself in the end as, the cusomer services seem to imagine that spending 30-45 minutes on the phone to get nowhere is somehow alright.
However you are still not giving me the answer as to where all the different levels of contribution are listed? I want to see a list to try and understand how I have gone from "Chat Champiom" to "Whizz Kid" and back to "Chat champion" all in one day and, now I am "Whizz Kid" again. Doctor Who has nothing on me. :)
Your answer that arrived in a forum email is not on the forum so, I cannot answer, but, I cannot see a 'Who's Who' or a 'Community Home Page' as you have suggested. It's a busy website, but, very badly designed. It always amazes me how communication companies are pants at communications.
There are no explanations of categories of the names on Community Home that I can see. As I said it's a poorly designed site that promises a lot and sets out to confuse. It's rubbish I'm afraid. :)

Yes quite! However, we speak of TalkTalk's site and not a seaside town in essence although, I suppose like some seaside town's the site is a mess. :)
Ok folks, Gondola is not going to answer my question so, can anyone please tell me what these categories represent and what they are supposed to mean e.g. Chat Champion, Whizz Kid etc?
Is there a list somewhere or, is it just a prententious thing that TalkTalk lay on you for some reason, like the emails that you get saying "that --------somebody thinks your post is awesome" (pass the sick bag please) ?
I would just like to find out what these levels of changing titles actuually means and, as typical with forum's generally in my experience, it's hard to get a straight answer most of the time. Lots of people play the same game as TalkTalk with positive and accommodating language used rather than simply answering the question asked which is a waste of everyone's time.
Now I have received this badge below. Ironical really as, you cannot get straight answers on the forum so, you then get a badge congratulating you for basically being unsuccesful in many, many topics. It is worse than being in Kintergarden:

Now a week after trying to get a simple answer and failing, which is par for the course on this forum, I get this in an email with the subject : Did you get the answer you needed?
This whole set-up has delusions of adequacy :)
Treat the names as a bit of fun.
The most important thing is that the community is able to help you when needed.

It is not a place where many answers are forthcoming and, I do not like the American style hyperbole that comes with all the emails from the community like, " So and so thinks your awesome". It is typical of TalkTalk to have overblown communications with no substance whatsoever.
As for giving titiles you may well consider them fun, however, who wants to play into all this childish nonsense when the only reason to go onto a forum or support place is to get answers to problems that TalkTalk are not providing? Sometimes people are very helpful, but, as with any forum a lot of the information is often ridiculous.
If anyone went into a shop and asked about a product or how to get what you need and you had to go through a month of banter just to get something you would not go there. Making the support even more useless than trying to communicate with TalkTalk by phone seems to be missing the point.
So, in my view the whole set up and software being used for this support community is basically TalkTalk taking the Mickey on top of not organising themselves properly. If that is your idea of entertainment fair enough, however, if I ask someone what 2 + 2 is, do I really have time for answers that say, "Well, it could be 3 or 5 or maybe one of the 2's is not a 2 and in any case it's hard for give a straightforward answer because we are busy counting all the shareholders money".
