Enable Band Steering and Airtime Fairness for all customers?

Submitted by VictorThiago 03-05-2020 | 4 Comments

Status: Duplicate

Recently, I was having problems with WiFi connectivity. I switched on Band Steering and Airtime Fairness (I have a HG633 router), and these problems seem to have disappeared. No more disconnections and wireless connectivity seems to have improved.

Why don't TalkTalk switch on these settings automatically on all routers? Could this be implemented with a firmware update?

A customer could always switch them off if they want through the routers settings.

This is just a suggestion. Let me know what you think. I know everyone's circumstances and environments are different. What worked for me, may not work for someone else.

@VictorThiago thanks for u suggestion there might be several reasons why have not. for example

they have different router so might find only that type of router has it.

it may be that they have it there for people that need it but most people do not change things in the router setting.

they team hopefully will see it but due to the number of topic in this area they might not see it

they are more helping customers in the help side here

if u do need help with a issue or fault on ur service which does include wifi then please post in the correct section here

as there is some help other customers on here which will try and help but also some good staff which will help to with a issue.
