SMS compatable landline phones have been available now for the best part of a decade (see threads going back to at least 2010).
When is TT going to enable the use of SMS on landlines?

At the pace Openreach work it will probably outlast our children, but that's another matter .... 😉
If it was a voice service only network I'd agree with that but it's not.
Landlines are going to have a lot more bandwidth than 5G or what ever comes after it for a long time with increased security to boot.
SMS is apparently needed to have any voice on Twitter, I'm so fed up of it saying "number not supported"... apparently bots have an easier time registering than TT customers!
@Wondering Use a TalkTalk Mail customer email address to Sign up to Twitter if you don't have a mobile.
Unless a TT address specifically makes a difference, I tried multiple times to register with email and invariable the site will lock out the account until sms verification is done...
