When a customer does a speed check on the TalkTalk site than TalkTalk could look at whether this is what is expected and be proactive it sorting out any issues

Do you mean something like a dynamic line management system that constantly monitors the line for problems and then automatically adjust things to optimise performance ?
The Service Status already indicates the expected minimum and maximum and average throughput for the line, so customers can already see this for themselves, @Mike39, I would think. Most of the time it doesn't need intervention.
