Maintenance or recovery mode is useful to reset your TV Box, but you should only use this option after all other diagnostics have been completed.
If your TalkTalk TV box is stuck booting up after switching it on, or is failing to respond to the remote control or any manual button combinations, you should power off your TV box at the mains and wait for a few minutes before switching it back on again.
When powered back on, if the box displays the same behaviour, you should follow the steps below for your TV Box:
Unplug the power cable and HDMI cable and hold down front panel button. Now plug back in the power cable and HDMI cable whilst still holding the front panel button down. Once the Android recovery screen appears you can release the button and complete a factory reset and software upgrades.
After you’ve reset your box, you’ll need to complete the setup wizard by following the onscreen steps. You'll also need to download any apps you've previously added and sign-in to any app that requires credentials.
If you’ve tried all of the above and the box still won’t get past the “Waking up” screen, please contact us.
If you're using a TalkTalk TV 4K Box and need to reset your device, please follow the simple steps in Restore your TalkTalk TV box to factory settings.
