Capped Broadband Download Speed

Hi I used to have faster download speeds available, but I appear to be now capped at exactly 60mbps ! , which I find quite frustrating. Can this be uncapped to provide my full speed as before please? Thanks.

Hi Debbie,

The engineer has fixed the issue, there was a problem with feed connection outside the property where the connected wires were bare and were intermittently shorting & disrupting the broadband. Now it's fixed he's told me the sync speed is now around 70mbps.

Apologies for this.

 

The notes advise that the fault is still with Openreach and was assigned to an engineer this morning.

 

I will keep checking the fault ticket for additional notes from Openreach.

Thankyou for the reply.

If possible could you please arrange an engineer, it's worth a try and see if he sync speed could be improved. I had a few stuttering issues over the weekend where a few times the internet froze and took a few minutes to correct itself even on ethernet connected hardware.

I've checked the connection stats and I can see that the sync speed hasn't increased any further.

 

I have also checked the predicted speed range for your line and the minimum guaranteed speed is showing as 58.8 and your current speed is 59mb.

 

I can arrange an engineer visit but I can't guarantee if the speed will increase based on the predicted ranges for your line.

Please can you power down the new router for a full 30 minutes and then leave the new router switched on and connected for 48hrs whilst DLM is monitoring the line profile/speed?

 

I can then check the connection stats again on Monday.

Hi Debbie,

 

Just received the replacement router from the courier thankyou.

I've just connected everything up and given it a test. It seems roughly the same at the moment but very slightly quicker than before, I have just noticed when logging into the router that I am still capped at 60 mbps download and 20mbps upload on the router?  I've also tried to do a speed test on the talktalk website but it says "We've run into a problem, Sorry, we're working hard to resolve this issue, Please try again later.
