Router keeps rebooting intermittently

Every day my router reboots about twice a day for no reason. I have replaced the router all the cables, removed everything from the router, changed power socket and connector, connected the router directly to the phone line Inlet socket and replace the phone line extension lead but it keeps rebooting.

My router is a EchoLife DG8041W Home Gateway.

Is anyone else having this issue or is there an alternative router that can be supplied?

Hi A13xeo

I've made the change to your router firmware.

Please can you monitor the connection and let us know how it compares.

Thanks again.

Hi A13xeo

Yes I will update the FW just after 5pm and I will post back to confirm once it's been completed.

Please can you leave the router switched on at this time without rebooting.

Thanks

Hi A13xeo

Apologies, it's been moved to moderated posts.

Here is my reply - I can make the change to your router firmware.

When would be the best time to update your router firmware?

We advise to leave the router switched on without being rebooted whilst we update the FW. This should take no longer than 20 minutes to update.

Thanks

Debbie

I have asked one of TalkTalk's support to pick your thread up and upgrade it for you, only TalkTalk can do this.

The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first. Please try to avoid posting on here until TalkTalk has responded to you, otherwise, this will just put you further down the queue.

To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number & if possible an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture then click on "My Settings" followed by:-

I checked the user log and it looks like it's the kernel panic is causing the issue. I get the below error at the same time the router reboots.

1981-01-01 00:00:10 [Error][Alarm-Log] AlarmID:104001,AlarmLevel:Error,Device reset. Cause: System reset due to kernel panic, Terminal:OTHER

Are you seeing entries in the User Log about kernel panic? This is normally the cause of the reboots & requires the firmware to be upgraded to V1.06. When I know, I can arrange to get this done for you, as it only affects some DG8041W routers & not others, this is not normally an automatic update.
