New router

Hi

I can't change the Wi-Fi passwords on the router I received yesterday, as it says that the password & its confirmation entry do not match, when they do. Displaying the two password entries proves that they do match. I have also tried a factory default of the configuration, but it is still the same. Please, can you help?

Thanks

I'm glad to hear this and thanks for confirming 🙂

Thanks

Hi Michelle

Now I've found out how to change things in advanced settings, I've changed everything and all my devices are now back up and running. Although I have noticed that the white light on this last router is quite pale and not so easy to see!

Thanks for checking on it.

Lesley

Hi Karl

Nothing so far, all any of it seems to do is to change the network name but refuse to change the password - then I can only reset again to get any WiFi

Hi

One last thing, I've updated the router firmware to the latest version, try now and see if it will work.

Hi @F10rrell

As you have already done a factory default as Karl suggested, I can only assume that the replacement router is faulty as well. A bit unusual though. I think you need another one.

Hi

All that did was boot me off the internet so I had to repeat the reset and start again!

Hi

OK, Try a pin reset of the router - hold a pin or paperclip in the reset hole at the back for 10 seconds and this will fully reset the router.

Log back in to the router and see if it allows the password to save.

Hi

No, nothing like that, it's the same one as I used previously. I think I should have added this to my last post instead of starting a new one - sorry!!
