Strictly Come Dancing : Find Your Dancing Shoes : BBC One Trailer
I absolutely know the family is going to be watching the 16th series of Strictly Come Dancing. It's a 10 out of 10 from Gondola.
But what's already made this season special is BBC Creative's 'Find Your Dancing Shoes' trailer inspired by a Dancing in the Rain style animation featuring a pair of fancy red heels and a set of cast-off brogues on a rain-soaked pavement.
The animation isn't traditional stop-motion though. It's Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI) but with a human feel and emotion. The innovative touch is that the shoes are worn by former Strictly dancers, choreographed and recorded in a studio routine; the dancers and their shadows erased and details like the inside of the shoes reconstructed with CGI in post-production.
The concept to encourage people to get onto the dance floor and celebrate dance is fantastic. And the idea of conveying the love of dance via an enthusiastic pair of lively red heels inviting the hesitant brown lace-ups to join in and perform an amazing routine for the inspired 'bric-a-brac' audience is stunning and award winning.
