Hi anyone that can help would be appreciated. So after 3 days of sorting my 4K box works and has al the talk talk apps. The usb was formatted and verified on the box last night . So tonight I go to pause and it’s not working . Looking on the recording section it now says usb storage verified in progress., and been saying this for 3 hours . What do I need to do . The tech team are about as helpful as my Nan. Been told to remove the batteries from the remote 🤷🏼♀️. Thanks Amanda

@Mazza40 please start your own thread if you have any issues, but for info, the box will format a new USB for first time use.
If you need to format on a PC, insert it, then right mouse click the drive when it appears and format is an option in the menu.

I have not bought a USB stick yet but 250G seems to be the best size. Not sure how to format it but will try. I understand you can only record one program which is very disappointing. I had recorded lots of programs and films on my old box. I had no sound on my TV and found out that it was the TV not the box, so I could of kept my old box which worked better.

I think there is an option in settings. Failing that you can reformat on a PC or Laptop.

What size usb are you using? The larger the capacity the longer it takes and others have resorted to formatting and using a lower capacity usb.
as its taking this long I'd recommend starting again and reformat the usb.
Where did you get the usb from. Others have bought from Ebay and have had trouble with buying large capacity sticks a a cheap price. A known issue with eBay is that whilst the stick may register as say 500mb, its capacity can really be much lower in size and box is trying to format at 500mb, but can't do so, hence it fails.
I suggest if you have another stick you could try this, or a lower capacity one but once it has been formatted, it should work without issue.
