One of my four Talktalk powerline adapters is no longer showing any lights when plugged in and turned on. When I phoned the helpline I think I got through to a call centre in Botswana. I explained that the adapter was broken, showing no lights. For half an hour a trainee operator talked me though a completely inflexible script, often asking which lights were responding, and each time I replied “like I said, none of the lights work”. At the end she asked me to call back when she had an assistant, but I refused to be put off, and after another half hour of going over the same ground, I asked to speak to her supervisor. I was kept on hold for another 20 minutes before the supervisor came on, and within 10 minutes he booked me an engineer appointment. My big issue is with the inflexible script. If none of the lights work, the script should skip all the pairing and other synchronisation tests and go straight to the engineer bit. Shame on Talktalk for being such time wasters.

The forum is not real-time 24/7 support, so depending on how busy they are & how many are working at any one time, this can take 24 - 48 hrs (excluding weekends & Bank Holidays). So the fewer entries you make on your thread now, the sooner they will pick it up.
To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number & if possible an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture then click on "My Settings" followed by:-
Personal Profile > Personal Information
Otherwise, TT will not be able to tie up your forum username to your broadband account. Only you & TalkTalk have visibility of your details.
