Roku Streaming Stick

We have been with TalkTalk for a few months and everything is good apart from our Roku which has stopped working. All the channels come on but the remote control does nothing. We bought a new remote from e bay but that does nothing and it does not have the button to re programme the remote.  We have TalkTalk broadband with the F-Secure virus software. We are not sure if this has blocked the signal getting to the Roku. Any ideas?

Hi @Stan1962

Here's the advice for remote troubleshooting.

Check the batteries and go through the process for pairing the remote to the Roku.

There are basically two types of remote control for Roku, a standard IR remote designed for the basic box units and an enhanced "point anywhere" type which connects by wireless. This latter type is required for the streaming stick and has a pairing button on the back. If you don't have the button, then you have the wrong type of remote.

Hi @Stan1962

So you saw the remote control pairing dialogue on the TV screen, yes?

And if so, use the Roku remote to check your Internet connection via the TalkTalk router. Go to Settings > Network > Check connection

Sorted now. Roku sent us a brand new Roku Express for nothing.

That's good customer service from Roku.
