Only the TalkTalk auto-update server has access to update the Hub and only when the Hub itself initiates an update connection.
No antivirus software would be able to quarantine any part of the router firmware.
My advice is just to scan your computer / devices in the normal way.

I have subscribed to F-Secure and am in the process of adding and scanning all my devices. I would still like to check there is nothing lurking on my router. If I cannot scan it can I reinstall the firmware? If so where can I download it from?

The solution is to have TalkTalk keep your router/Wi-Fi Hub automatically updated which happens as standard and to keep the built in router firewall active as a barrier from Internet threats. Keeping your Wi-Fi and Router passwords strong is essential so only you have access to the router/Wi-Fi Hub.
