How long between being told an engineer is on his way and it actually getting fixed??

We have had no broadband for 24 hours. Last update was 11.30a, on the 14th, having been without it at that point for 12 hours. Is this sort of delay normal?

Sadly it can be, it is all down to Openreach to get the issue fixed. Total loss of service for more than two working days is covered by the auto compensation scheme, see here:
