Change your Wi-Fi Hub's security settings

Your Wi-Fi Hub automatically uses WPA2, which is the safest, most secure wireless protection. However, some devices can only connect to Wi-Fi using an older version called WPA. If you're having problems connecting any of your devices, here's how to change your Wi-Fi Hub's security settings to use WPA2 and WPA at the same time.

  1. Open your browser and type in 192.168.1.1 to go to the router admin page
  2. Login with your username and password. You can find these on the sticker underneath the removable settings card on back of your Wi-Fi Hub
  3. Select the See Wi-Fi settings button on the Dashboard page
  4. Now select the Manage advanced settings button
  5. Select Continue on the advanced settings warning
  6. Choose the Advanced Configuration option in the menu
  7. Then select WLAN from the menu. 2.4G Basic Network Settings will be automatically selected
  8. Select the arrow next to Authentication Mode and choose WPA/WPA2 PreSharedKey from the drop-down menu. The Encryption Mode should then automatically change to TKIP&AES
  9. Select the Apply button to save your changes

To change your security settings for 5GHz, follow the steps above but after you select WLAN from the menu you'll need to select 5G Basic Network Settings in the drop-down menu.

  1. Open your browser and type in 192.168.1.1 to go to the router admin page
