Important: We strongly recommend that you create a Password Manager main password recovery code as soon as you start to use Password Manager. This is the only way for you to regain your Password Manager main password if you forget it.

The main password recovery code is a unique and personal code that is the only means of regaining access to Password Manager, should you forget your main password. It is strongly encrypted and can only be decrypted on one of your connected devices. This means that it cannot be decrypted on any other user device.

For your safety, Password Manager cannot reset your main password nor send you a recovery code if you forget your main password. This has been a conscious decision by F-Secure to increase your security and privacy.

Every time you change your main password, Password Manager shows the create recovery code view. We recommend that you save the code as an image and print a copy for safekeeping. The main password recovery code printout should not be stored in the same location as your device.

If you connect new devices, Password Manager may ask you to create a new main password recovery code. If this is the case, make sure you create a new main password recovery code, as the older code will not work anymore.

Note: When you change your main password, you will receive a new recovery code. You will always need the latest recovery code to regain access to Password Manager if you forget your main password.
