Withholding your telephone number means that whoever you’re calling won’t be able to see it. That means it won’t appear in Caller Identification or be available if they use Last Caller ID.
Using withhold number
There are two ways to withhold your number. You can either activate it individually for each call or apply it to all the calls you make. To withhold your number on individual calls simply dial 1 4 1 before the telephone number you’d like to call. To withhold your number on ALL calls:
- Log in to My Account
- Choose Profile & Settings, then My Telephone Settings
- In the Privacy features section, tick the box next to Withhold number
- Save your changes by selecting the Update button at the bottom of the page
How do I switch this feature off?
Follow the steps you used to activate this feature in My Account, only this time remove the tick next to Withhold number and click Update to confirm.
I can’t get through to certain numbers since activating this feature
If the person you’re calling has an active service that automatically rejects anonymous calls, you won’t be able to get through. If you’d like to speak to them, try disabling this feature.
You can do this quickly by dialling 1 4 7 0 before the number you want to call.
