I have had a very basic hobby website (with personal email address included), hosted with 123-Reg (and previous incarnation, Supanames) for 20 years, however, they've just sent me renewal notices raising my annual outlay from £26.50 to an incredible £144.50 (approx - could be a bit more). Part of this is due to them now charging separately for hosting an email address that was previously free – now £43.20!!
So after all these years I have no option to give up my website, which was non-transactional and using hardly any bandwidth at all. But what about my personal email address? I have three others with TalkTalk, but that was my main one that I used as my point of contact for doctors, dentists, council tax, etc, and probably many I've forgotten about.
I have paid the fee to 123-Reg to retain my domain name, so can anybody tell me if it's possible
to have any emails sent to that address redirected to one of my TalkTalk addresses? One problem is that I can find very limited info about TalkTalk's server settings, in fact all I can find is
: imap.talktalk.net Port:143
I suppose that in this case I only need the incoming, but do I need anything in addition to this – that's assuming it is actually possible.
p.s. I have had to estimate the total new cost because I realised that my first figure was too low, but their website is so fragmented and difficult to navigate that I couldn't find all the actual figures without spending about an hour at it. The £144.50 I quoted is almost certainly a slight under estimate.

I have set up a redirect from my 123-Reg personal email to one of my TalkTalk addresses, but I'm sure this won't work after I fail to renew at the rip-off prices. There's no problem with the TalkTalk email addresses, it's just that there are so many people who have my personal email as my means of contact that it's going to be a very big job to change them all. I've sent a blind copy of the changes to everybody in my address book who needs to know, but it's all the businesses and services that are going to be a nightmare.
I don't mind a price increase in line with inflation, but 123-Reg are trying to commit daylight robbery. I'm even wondering if it's legal considering how people tend to be pretty much tied in to these services.

Hi Labrat, all the TalkTalk email settings can be found on the Email Settings help article.
