Cancel your TalkTalk Mobile service

We're sorry you're thinking of leaving us. Of course, we don't want you to go, but whatever your reason for leaving we've made it really simple.

If you're leaving us to join another provider, we’ll sort out your final bill and help you through the cancellation process.

You have three options when cancelling your TalkTalk Mobile account:

  1. Transfer your number to a new provider - PAC
  2. Take a new number with a new provider - STAC
  3. Close your account and disconnect your number

Follow our simple guides below to make sure you follow the correct option:

If you want to transfer your mobile number to a new provider you'll need a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) from us. You give the PAC to your new provider which allows the easy transfer of your mobile number. It also cancels your contract with us at the same time.

Please note:

  • A PAC is only valid for 30 days. If you don't give it to a new provider within that time you’ll need to request a new one
  • You’ll still be a TalkTalk Mobile customer until your number has been transferred over to your new provider. Once the transfer is complete your account with us will be closed and your final bill produced. This will include any charges for usage outside of your free plan. Any subsequent bills will confirm any remaining credits or balance owed
  • Your new provider will tell you what day the number transfer is due to take place. It’s usually no more than 48 hours after you’ve given them your PAC
  • If you’re still within contract there may be a charge to leave us early
  • If you've set up a Direct Debit or recurring payment method, it's important you don't cancel this until your final bill has been paid. This is the easiest way to pay and means we can get any money back to you quickly if you've overpaid.

 

If you're joining a new provider with a new number and want to cancel your existing one, you'll need a STAC (Service Termination Authorisation Code) from us. You give the STAC to your new provider which instructs us to disconnect your mobile service. This means you'll only be paying for one mobile service with a maximum of one day overlap of line rental.

Please note:

  • A STAC is only valid for 30 days. If you don't give it to a new provider within that time you’ll need to request a new one
  • You'll continue to be billed until your disconnection date, at which point we will issue a final bill. This will include any charges for usage outside of your free plan. Any subsequent bills will confirm any remaining credits or balance owed.
  • If you’re still within contract there may be a charge to leave us early.
  • If you've set up a Direct Debit or recurring payment method, it's important you don't cancel this until your final bill has been paid. This is the easiest way to pay and means we can get any money back to you quickly if you've overpaid.

 

 

Request your PAC or STAC with 2 easy options

Only request a STAC if you're moving to a new provider and want to take a new number. Your current TalkTalk Mobile number will be disconnected if you give a STAC to a new provider.

 

Online in My Account

You can easily generate a PAC or STAC in My Account. Log in and follow the onscreen instructions. 

Via SMS

To request a PAC, send the word PAC to 65075
To request a STAC, send the word STAC to 75075
To request switching information, send the word INFO to 85075

 

Please contact us if you decide to leave us and you don't want to keep your mobile number. Your agreement will end 30 days after you tell us you want it to cancel. If you’re still within contract there may be a charge to leave us early.
