Troubleshooting for your Wi-Fi Booster

Having some problems getting your Wi-Fi Booster up and running? If the Setup Guide wasn't helpful, we've addressed some common troubleshooting measures below.

No, the Wi-Fi Booster is designed to be plugged in and connected directly to your home network. All you'll need to do is plug it in, press the WPS button on the side of the Booster (this is the button with two arrows in a circular pattern) for a few seconds, and it should connect to your hub.

We think that most homes in the country will only need one Wi-Fi Booster to achieve optimum coverage once paired with your Wi-Fi Hub. You can connect as many Boosters as you like to your Wi-Fi Hub, so homes with a large footprint might find a case for using more than one. Just connect each Booster to your Wi-Fi Hub in the same way and experiment with placing them around your home to ensure your coverage stretches as far as you need it to.

If your Wi-Fi Booster and Wi-Fi Hub are both powered on, make sure that you've pressed the 'WPS' buttons on both the Booster and the Hub (Steps 3 and 4 in the setup guide). Otherwise, the two devices will not be able to create a secure connection. Once you've pressed both buttons, the Signal light on your Wi-Fi Booster should begin flashing in amber, and change to a solid green colour once a successful connection has been created.

The Wi-Fi Booster can't achieve the best connection with the rest of your network, either due to blockages (large furniture, thick walls) or location (it may be too far from your router). You might need to think about the placement of your Wi-Fi Booster in your home. We recommend an open space such as the top of a cabinet or table, with around 10-50 feet between each device.

Your Wi-Fi Booster will need to perform a firmware update once it has been powered on and paired with your Wi-Fi Hub. To show this, each of the lights on the Booster will begin to flash. Once the lights have finished flashing, the your Wi-Fi Booster should now be updated and ready to be moved to an alternative location in your home.
