We're always looking for ways to help you manage your TalkTalk account and avoid any nasty surprises. You can set a monthly allowance in My Account to avoid running up a large bill.
When you join us or change your TalkTalk plan, we'll automatically set your monthly allowance to £100. This means you won't exceed your limit when making calls or TV purchases outside of what's included in your plan or Boosts.
Keeping track of your usage since your last bill couldn't be easier, follow the steps below:
To help you stay on track, we’ll send you an email and text alert when you reach 50% and 90% of your monthly allowance.
If you reach your monthly allowance, your services will be restricted and you’ll no longer be able to make calls or buy or rent movies. However, you can still receive calls and make calls to the Emergency Services. You'll also still be able to get online with totally unlimited broadband and watch all your favourite shows on TalkTalk TV.
Please note: There may be a delay of a few hours between reaching your monthly allowance and the block taking effect. During this time, call and TV costs can still be incurred.
You can quickly get your services back up and running again by making a payment for your unbilled usage in My Account or by calling our automated payment line on 0345 172 0040. Charges apply if you aren't calling from a TalkTalk landline. For other ways to pay, take a look at payment methods and paying your bill.
Your usage allowance will automatically reset to zero after each bill. If you reach your allowance before your next bill, you can either:
Your allowance will then be reset within 24 hours, allowing you to rent and buy movies and make outgoing calls including your free family calls and call Boosts.
If you change your TalkTalk package there's a good chance your usage will change too, so to help you we'll automatically reset your monthly allowance to £100. This gives you the freedom to change your allowance to your chosen amount based on your new package.
You can increase your monthly allowance in My Account.
If you want to increase your allowance to above £50, please get in touch so we can do this for you. You may also benefit from adding one of our flexible boosts to get the extra minutes that you need.
