Hi,

Is anyone else having issues getting hotukdeal.com links working? When clicking on the links i get error message

This site can’t be reached

I am using windows 10. Changing browsers, turning off firewalls does not appear to make any difference.

I have read some posts on other websites that suggest it is a Talktalk issue

It can't be sorted out "at source," it is one of the drawbacks of using overweening security services.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here: How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - Help & Support.

This is affecting myself and others too....there is a thread on the HotUKDeals website.

https://www.hotukdeals.com/feedback/links-to-hotukdeals-deals-blocked-through-the-talk-talk-modem-co...

Can Talk talk sort it out at source for everyone as a lot of us are not tech-minded!!

Hi,

One of the support team sorted the issue out for me.

They turned off Homesafe/Kidsafe in security settings.

Not sure why it suddenly became an issue

Ok I have sorted it - with the homesafe hints in this chat.

I did not have homesafe Kid Safe turned on to start with - but for some reason was blocking access to hotukdeals links as the default behaviour.

To resolve for me, i did the following:

  1. Log into My Account
  2. Select Profile & Settings from the navigation menu
  3. Select My Security Settings
  4. Here it will show you what is currently turned on/off
  5. If not already on select On under Kids Safe
  6. Then add https://hotukdeals.digidip.net/ and select Allow
  7. Save changes, and allow a few minutes for your changes to take effect - test
  8. Turn Off Kids Safe (It is still linking correctly through hotukdeals as I write this, time will tell)

I am also having this issue with hotukdeals redirects that use "https://hotukdeals.digidip.net/visit" to redirect to the deal.
I always get this site can't be reached ERR_CONNECTION_RESET.

As many others have discussed it is specific to talktalk, no issue with other providers.

Please let me know the fix, or when a fix will be applied?

Thanks @kanya-TT and I had HomeSafe on my list of suspects also! That guidance can be safely offered on the public forums though, no? Other than that, happy to leave you to it. 🙂

Hey @ferguson. What we will do, is to try and unblock the particular website Martin can't access by allowing guiding on  HomeSafe settings where he can amend their settings in My Account, this will in turn allow him to unblock g hotukdeal.com as it appears to be blocked. If this doesn't work, we will know that it's not blocked by TalkTalk and it's a browser issue.

Forgive me @kanya-TT, but that doesn't seem necessary to me, can you explain this different approach, please?

Perhaps we can check your account and attempt to unblock this website, especially since no one else seems to be experiencing issues with it. However, since this matter is account-related, we might need to end this thread and continue in a private message. Does that work for you?

Yes it is when connected to talktalk broadband. Clicking on the link gives this message:

This site can’t be reached

The connection was reset.

Try:

    • Checking the connection
    • Checking the proxy and firewall

  • Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

Working fine for me. Is there anything more in the error message?

Hey there, Martin. We are so sorry to hear that, is this when you are connected to your TalkTalk Broadband?
