Have been sent a Broadband Booster -Sagecom V2  FAST266 WiFi booster in the hope of improving network around the house.

Have followed the included instructions and spent hours trying and also had online chat for over an hour today but the device does not/will not pair with my router - HG635.

Am at my wits end. Any ideas?

Thank you @KeithFrench, and indeed the @DKP#7's router is quite old.

Hi @DKP#7 @kanya-TT

To elaborate some more on this. The Sagemcom FAST266 WiFi Booster is far more than a booster; it forms a mesh node with the Sagemcom WiFi Hubs 1 or 2. During the WPS process, the 266 is looking for a hidden Wi-Fi network from the Sagemcom Wi-Fi Hub and connects to this to form a wireless backhaul of the now meshed network. It is only compatible with the Sagemcom WiFi hubs for this reason.

Your Huawei router predates mesh networks by quite a few years & they will never work together.

Thank you for resuming contact.

I was very interesting in what Keith had to say and the incompatability of the Booster with my HG router.

During nearly four hours of chat conversations both before being sent the booster or since receiving it and when trying to sort out my difficulties did anyone seem to consider this. So frustrating.

However the question is ; what happens next?

I won't be able to spend time at the computer until later in the day, but given what Keith has said surely the only questions must be:

1. Can TalkTalk supply a booster compatible with my exsisting router?

2. Will TalkTalk supply a router compatible with the booster I've been sent?

It's likely to be around 3pm before I'm free for any length of time today.

David

I am not surprised it won't pair with the HG635, it is only compatible with Sagemcom routers.

@DKP#7, staff are on here mostly between c 8am and 6pm weekdays only.

In the meantime, @KeithFrench might be able to help you if he has time - he knows how to pair these devices.

Not sure you will have got my earlier reply. I was only available at home for a short time, but now I won't be in a position to try anything else today. Please let me know if and when it may be possible to re-establish contact. I may have only limited time tomorrow. (Wednesday)

Hey there, @DKP#7. Have you tried rebooting the router and the booster, then establish a pairing?
