Upgrade router

I keep receiving emails asking if I want to upgrade my router at a cost of £80.  Can't respond to the emails and want to know if this is a genuine request or a scam.  Becoming less enamoured with TalkTalk to be honest, even though we've been with them for years.

@fr8ys thank you for the support. @Smithy69 yes, we have sent you communication because you have the older model router. If you not having issues with the router you have, please continue using it once you renew your contract, you will receive a new router. If you have any technical issues, please do not hesitate to contact us.

It's genuine, but if you are out of contract or within the last 4 months of a contract, then you can recontract and at that stage should be able to request a new router free as part of the contract.

To do so though, you will need to phone the loyalty team and make sure you ask for a new one.

If though you have an issue and after checks it's deemed to be a router fault, you should be sent a new one as a swap.
