I don't usually spend much time in these forums unless I have a problem. Which I do at the moment. And which has (temporarily, I hope) locked me out of my account for the moment because the login system can't seem to recognise the secure access codes it insists I request.

I'm actually a bit late to the party, but I'm trying to follow the advice from fry8s re associating my email addresses with my Broadband Account. I can get at my emailed bills, so I know my 10 digit account number. What I don't seem to have is anywhere to input it to my profile because there is no entry for Accouht Number. There are two possible fields, Singleview and Customer, but they both appear to be greyed out.

I need to get into my account to check what email address details it still holds for me, and I need a profile field to take my account number.

Any advice will be gratefully received.

@fr8ys I don't think I'm allowed to do that. Once you delete a lineone account, I don't think you can create a replacement. To be honest, I think I may well just settle for what I've got and resume normal life.

@durdle rather than try changing the settings, you could try deleting the account and then add it again using the recommended settings.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. @ferguson  Ive been trying to work from that but, as I just posted, I can't change my security types in my email app and, if I just change the server names, I get the Couldn't Verify Account error when I try to save the changes. Bit of a stalemate, unless I can send you a message with absolutely every server setting. You might spot an anomaly in the various settings not shown in your link. Rather a lot to ask, though.

@ferguson I realise that; there doesnt appear to be any way of accessing them.

Meanwhile, in my Samsung app, I see a few settings highlighted in blue and not changeable, eg security types. If I leave those as they are and change the imap and smtp servers to talktalk ones, I get

Couldn't verify account

Security error occurred

Server certificate not trusted.

For the record, on two of my v devices, both my security types are set to SSL (Accept all certificates) in my account that fails in webmail on my tablet. On my third device, they are set to SSL for imap and TLS for smtp, and they are also in blue, ie not changeable.

@ferguson You asked me which browser I use. OK, one's  a search engine, one's a browser. I get the same webmail failure with both. Nb: I haven't got round to changing any settings yet. It's been a busy day

So they are working on email clients, but not on webmail? That seems strange. Which browser are you using?

@Philile-TT I know how to change them in my email apps but what I really want is to get both my email addresses working on webmail. I'm going to change the apps first and see where that leave s me.

@fr8ysThanks for the advice.

I run webmail by searching for Talktalk webmail in Google, and then logging in. I have no idea how to run it "via an email app)

Ok, I know I can change settings in my Samsung email app, though I didn't understand they have to be changed in the app on each device.

I don't  only use webmail,. I also use the Samsung Email app and, very occasionally, Thunderbird. Both address work fine on them.

I do see both my lineone addresses in webmail. It's just that one works, the other one (the one with incorrect settings) doesn't' open and appears to show an error symbol, a ! In a small triangle.

When I log in to Mailbox Manager, I can see both of my lineone addresses.

Are you saying that I need to modify my mail app settings on each device, and webmail will pick up on the changes. I thought email apps picked up the various settings from my lineone accounts.

That last seems a little mind blowing to me.

Either way, I will change the sxxo@lineone.net settings on my three devices and see where that leaves me.

You don't change the settings in mailbox manager as this is set for webmail use.

On your phone are you using webmail via a browser or an email app?

The settings are for use in an email app and has to be set in each device you use an app on.

If you only use webmail then support staff @mandisa1-TT or @Thabile-TT will need to check your account if you still can't find all of your addresses there.

When logging into Mailbox Manager you should see all emails addresses listed.

I can't see where to change these settings in Mailbox Manager.

I can see both my usernames and options to:

Edit Details

Manage Aliases

Deactivate Mailbox

(A field with no alias names showing)

Delete Mailbox

If I select Edit Details, I see fields for

First/Last  Names

Email Address

Mobile Phone Number

Alternate Email Address

Marker to say which is Admin

if I then hit Save, I'm  taken straight back to the first display above

Where in all that should I be able to change server names etc?

If you mean the recommended settings @ferguson pointed you to, these are applied on each device you set the emails up on, such as each of your phones.

Mailbox manager is the only option these days.

It was removed from My Account at the same time as transferring to Mailbox Manager.
