I don't usually spend much time in these forums unless I have a problem. Which I do at the moment. And which has (temporarily, I hope) locked me out of my account for the moment because the login system can't seem to recognise the secure access codes it insists I request.

I'm actually a bit late to the party, but I'm trying to follow the advice from fry8s re associating my email addresses with my Broadband Account. I can get at my emailed bills, so I know my 10 digit account number. What I don't seem to have is anywhere to input it to my profile because there is no entry for Accouht Number. There are two possible fields, Singleview and Customer, but they both appear to be greyed out.

I need to get into my account to check what email address details it still holds for me, and I need a profile field to take my account number.

Any advice will be gratefully received.

@ferguson As a Samsung Android user, I do have a gmail account to fall back on, if I ever have to, and I could always switch over to that eventually, but I'm none too sure what big benefits that would give me. Meanwhile, tonight, I gave TalkTalk Live Chat a chance to answer my question. Admittedly it was out of service hours, but the chatbottook my question on board, then steered me toward a pay-a-refundable-£1-subscription third party support service. Can't help wondering what exactly peer to peer support is going to offer?

OK, fair enough. But they could hardly disclose email information if you didn't have any login details, or a recovery plan set up. Honestly, if you want any new email addresses I would look elsewhere other than TalkTalk. Gmail is an excellent option in my personal opinion. And does not have the vagaries of being linked to a specific ISP.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here: How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - Help & Support.

@ferguson I didn't chose to abandon them. I had no choice because they were old and previously unused, I had no idea what they were and TalkTalk support refused to tell me. Support could see them, but they didn't show up for me anywhere. They were therefore no use to me, so I gave TalkTalk permission to delete them.

I thought you had two TalkTalk email addresses previously, but decided to abandon them?

@ferguson @fr8ys That's ok, my question can kick start my adventures in peer to peer land 😵💫

I'm thinking the more experienced support staff left some time ago.

The main loss, methinks, is that it will be less easy to become aware  of problems others have had and what advice they received from support that resolved them ( or not).

@Philile-TT @mandisa1-TT I think my last question before TT Support vanish forever from here has to be "As a lineone account holder, can I, or can't I, create a new talktalk email address to use?" Personally, I don't think I can, but I would very much like to be contradicted.

@fr8ys Sorry, my age is showing again; thanks for thecreassurance. Ive been using my line.one email address for around 30 years and I wouldn't want tombe without it now. Meanwhile, I could have sworn that I was told somewhere in this thread that I couldn't now create a talktalk address but, as that's one of the things I was after, I'll revisit mailbox manager and try again.

Update: Nope, nothing there.

Why do you think TalkTalk will give up on lineone addresses?

They have assumed responsibility for these, along with other email domains, which is fairly standard in the industry, as many email domains are now administered by other companies.

I don't recall any communications either sent to customers or in the press etc. where there is any hint of this.

The only thing, as you have found, is that you can't create a new lineone address. You should though be able to create a new TalkTalk.net one.

@Mandisa-TT I don't fully comprehend just how badly the loss of my two TalkTalk email accounts will be for me. Very, I suspect, once TalkTalk totally gives up on lineone.

The community forums will remain open and available for the time being, but TalkTalk staff will no longer be here to help, you will need to contact them directly for any issue that cannot be resolved here.

@Gliwmaeden2 I understand it's peer to peer from next week for help from TalkTalk. What I want to know is whether these forums will still be accessible, if only to check for previously provided advice, or will they no longer exist?
