Emails to tiscali account keep being rejected.

An increasing number of emails being sent to my tiscali account seem to being rejected for some reason. In the past this just seems to have been an occasional problem, but there have been several in the last few days which I have been informed have been returned to the sender. Is there a problem with the mail server? There seem to be an increasing number of scam emails getting through but I may not be getting some of important ones.

I've had occasional instances in the past where I've been informed  either by post or text that an important email couldn't be delivered, but I've just assumed it was a blip in the system as it's normally been ok, but this time every email this person tries to send me is being blocked. The email address is definitely correct, it's on a mailing list that she has been using for years, and everyone else on that list is getting their emails without a problem. As with you, I'm worried about important emails going missing. I'm tempted to ditch it and go to a different email provider but I've been using it for years and it would be such a big job to inform everyone that needed to know, that it had changed.

I'm having the same problem with my tiscali account. My bank has now text me twice to say two emails have been rejected. This started around the 28th November. I thought it was a bank issue, but I've spoken to them and it's not. So I wondered if TalkTalk was blocking them as spam. I've just read this thread and it looks like I'm not the only one! I'm concerned that other important emails have been bounced that I don't know about! Please can someone at TalkTalk look into this.

Got the same issue, emails sent directly to my tiscali.co.uk address get through but any reply-to or forwarded ones get rejected.

Hi Alan

I assume you are receiving some genuine mail messages ok? It's not just a case of your mailbox is suspended so is not found by the inbound mail server.

The TT504 error message suggests the originator has been detected as sending to incorrect email addresses at TalkTalk Mail.

Normally, I'd suspect the Reply-To: email address as being incorrect but if the originator is picking your email address from their contacts address book then either the address book is generating an incorrect address, that has been identified as a problem in the distant past, or there's something else going on.

What's their sending email domain? - just the part after the @ symbol.

Does the local part of your tiscali email address have any symbols in it - dots or dashes or underscores etc?

This is what the person who sent the last rejected email got back. The email address was correct and she's emailed to it before without a problem:

Address not found
Your message wasn't delivered to *******@tiscali.co.uk because the address couldn't be found or is unable to receive email.

The response from the remote server was:
550 5.1.0 AowZrQUraVrB6 Too Many Invalid Recipients (TT405)

What's the TT and three digit error code accompanying a returned mail message, if you know it?
