Ask us about your TalkTalk email account and Webmail.

Hi, recently I have started to get several emails a day on all my email accounts on talktalk broadband, all asking me to confirm my details. I know it is a scam, as the sending address is usually from gmail, outlook or MS mail.
Has my information been compromised when TT hived off their non broadband customers to Everymail?
In general, spam has increased enormously on TT over the last year. Why is it happening?

Hi @fr8ys Thank you for assisting.
@Dangerous2a Thank you for getting in touch. I completely understand your concern regarding these emails.
Please be assured that TalkTalk will never ask you to confirm your details via email. The messages you’re receiving are indeed phishing attempts, and it’s good that you’ve identified them as suspicious. We recommend that you do not click any links or provide any personal information.
Your information has not been compromised due to the migration to Everymail. This change did not expose customer data. Unfortunately, spam and phishing emails have become more common across the internet in general, and scammers often target large providers like TalkTalk.
Here are a few steps you can take to reduce spam and protect your account:

Hi,
Are you a TalkTalk email customer or have you been transferred to Everymail?
If the latter you will need to contact Everymail support for help
It's an unfortunate fact of life that scammers use people's uncertainty when changes occur and try to use this uncertainty to catch people out, and unlikely to be because your address has been compromised by TalkTalk action. TalkTalk would have to issue a statement if there is a breach under regulatory rules and there has not been such a statement.
