No access to email account after changing settings

Hi, I use my talktalk.net account on my IPad (version 16.3.1) and I thought I had altered the settings when the original mail came. However , I am now unable to change the security settings (talktalk password not entered). I then deleted the account after backing everything up and attempted to install it again, which also didn’t work. I am able to access my account via webmail.

Hi Iris2002, I've added your mailbox to the list of those to be restored to full service.

Hi Iris2002
I've put in a request to TalkTalk Support to restore IMAP access. The device will not authenticate until that access is back.
TalkTalk Support will respond right here and access should then be restored within 24 hours.

Hi Gondola,
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, my Ipad is the only device I use to access my talktalk mailbox.
Regards, Iris 2002

Hi Iris2002
The iPad is capable of using secure mail but now that the device access has been withdrawn due to the continued use of insecure settings it will not authenticate a connection until TalkTalk Support restore full access.
Good to know that webmail is working to keep you in touch.
Important question. Is the iPad the only way you access your TalkTalk mailbox? No mail collection service, desktop, laptop, notebook, tablet, phone, device used by someone else? All connections must use secure mail from now on. Webmail is secure by design so that's not a problem.
If the iPad is the only device and you're sure that it now has secure settings then I'll request TalkTalk to restore IMAP access. The device will not authenticate until that access is back. I'll provide a guide below to assist you in checking.
Prepare for TalkTalk Support - include in the Community Profile (not in these public posts):
Account holder name, TalkTalk home 'phone number (if not Data Only broadband)
Alternative mobile contact number. Full address with postcode (in the Location box)
Scroll down to Private notes to add the email address and customer account number
Check and Save changes
