Not receiving tiscali emails on phone or ipad, but am receiving on pc

Hi

In the last couple of weeks (I think) I've stopped receiving my tiscali emails on my phone & ipad, but they're still coming through to my PC (thankfully!)

I've checked the settings that I've got in Thunderbird on my PC & they're the same as on my phone & ipad, so I've no idea what could be stopping them coming through.

I can however send from my phone

Any ideas?

Thanks

Thanks you so much for the support @ferguson I have flagged this, as I have seen a few customers coming in experiencing a similar issue. It worth checking if the issue is perhaps with the tiscali domain.

mail.talktalk.net for incoming and smtp.talktalk.net for outgoing?

Thanks.

And yes, ALL devices set to IMAP &, as I said, ALL devices have IDENTICAL settings - port, incoming & outgoing servers etc. I've checked & re-checked that

Could you confirm that all 3 are using IMAP settings

If your PC is in POP and you access your mails first on this device, they will not subsequently download to your phone or pad.

It's best if all 3 devices are on IMAP and using IMAP settings.

Thank you for that @DebSki I will have to flag this to the incident team to investigate, if there is perhaps an issue with the tiscali domain.

Given that I can receive all emails to that account on my PC, via Thunderbird, I will continue to do that. I do not use webmail unless I can absolutely avoid it as it's another thing to have to log in to.

The problem I'm having is on my Android phone (k9mail) & on my ipad - native Apple email app. Both are working with all my other email accounts (I have several), it's just my Tiscali account that I can't receive emails from. I can, however SEND emails from my phone & ipad, using that account.

I did remove the account & put it back on my phone. Made no difference. I have checked & double checked the settings & they're IDENTICAL to what's on Thunderbird on my PC. I've cleared the cache, restarted phone, checked wi-fi & storage etc.

ALL my other emails continue to come to all 3 devices (Windows PC, Android phone & ipad), so I can only assume that it's a problem with the Tiscali system somewhere along the line - especially given that I am using THREE different platforms for email!

It's a bit of a nuisance not getting these emails on my phone when I'm out, but the people that I need to receive emails from I have asked to use a different email address to get round the problem. It's not great, but does work.

It could be an issue with the third-party app, as we had another customer that came in and was experiencing a similar issue on Android phone. I would advise please continue accessing your emails via webmail.

Receiving emails fine with Thunderbird on PC, it's on my Android phone & ipad that I'm not getting them, (but can send). ALL the settings for incoming server are the same on all three devices.

It's all most peculiar

Are all devices set as IMAP?

Hi there @DebSki, please try un-installing Thunderbird then re install it on the affected devices. However if the email is working fine on webmail we are unable to support further, as it is more likely not a TalkTalk issue.

Deleted account & then re-entered all details. Still nothing

Seems very strange that it's stopped working on 2 mobile devices at the same time

Normally under these circumstances the advice is to delete your account from the affected device, close the appropriate app and then add the account again using IMAP settings.

As you have been receiving mail on all 3 devices I guess you are using IMAP already, so as said try deleting the account and re-adding.

Hope this helps and let us know how you get on
