Hi, I've had the 'sign in' message repeatedly when trying to access my Outlook emails on my mobile phone. I've reset the account three times, but no difference. I then deleted the account and tried to add it back on, it still won't me back in. (I've correctly set it up four times now)

I am now on my laptop and Outlook is working on that.

Advice please?

Regards, Richard

Hi @Llancayo

If you are still having problems.

I have been doing more work on this and I am not convinced this is actually a TalkTalk issue. It looks like something has caused the SMTP mail server (outgoing emails) password to be erased in the email client. Alternatively, your email address can be reported as being incorrect.

Thunderbird is simple; putting the password back seems to have resolved the issue.

New Outlook for Windows can be a bit more complex. For more details, please see my post #20 in this thread of mine:-

I understand @Llancayo while we are here to assist you with any TalkTalk Mail-related inquiries, we are unable to provide support for third-party applications like Outlook. We recommend that you contact Microsoft support for assistance with the Outlook app. Alternatively, you can access your TalkTalk email through our webmail service.

Yes, I am using the Outlook App and have done so for years. This problem appears to happen whenever the TalkTalk server plays up.

It happened last year and the year before.

I understand, can you confirm if you are using the Outlook App?

Nope, I've cleared the cache but still can't log in via my mobile phone.

Cached data can sometimes become corrupted or outdated, leading to errors, crashes, or unexpected behavior in the app. Clearing the cache can resolve these issues and restore normal functionality. If you're using the Outlook app, try clearing the app's cache. You can do this by going to your device's settings, finding the Outlook app, and selecting the option to clear cache.
