Ask us about your TalkTalk email account and Webmail.

I have TalkTalk broadband and three LineOne email accounts. I can send and receive emails on all three using webmail, and can receive on all three using my PC. But from my PC I can send using only one. The other two give the message "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.talktalk.net failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again." Is this maybe because TalkTalk does not recognise these accounts? They worked OK using the Tiscali SMTP server but I am trying to update to what I understand is the more secure mail.talktalk.net server.

I do like easy to correct issues. Perfect result.
I appreciate your time to let me know. Thank you.

Many thanks, Gondola. It turns out that I had erroneously entered mail.talktalk.net instead of smtp.talktalk.net

Each email account requires its own dedicated outgoing smtp server settings because the authentication for sending is by using the Username (full sending email address) and the email password.
The outgoing smtp server host name is: smtp.talktalk.net
Port: 587
Connection security: StartTLS
My outgoing server requires authentication: Yes
Authentication: Username (full sending email address)
Password: Normal email password
The password must be security compliant: Minimum 8 characters (I recommend 12-15), multicase letters and at least one number and one symbol.
