Unable to access emails at work on Outlook OR send emails from android mobile

I am working 300 miles away from my home. I am using a company's 'guest' wifi system, and cannot get access to my emails on my laptop (all I see is 'send/receive error') AND although I can see emails on my Android phone (Samsung S22 Ultra) I can't send replies. None of my settings have changed, and I can used my emails at home and my family's home wifi systems with no problems. I have been told that the work server system does NOT block domestic email addresses - so what has gone wrong? Bear in mind that I am 300 miles from home, with limited resources.
